White Tea Pai Mu Tan

Without exaggeration, this tea can be called the peak of the tea Olympus. Everything about it is exclusive – from the appearance, with lush, untwisted buds framed by elegant leaves, to its original characteristics that elevate it to the level of an elixir of immortality. To produce this variety, only young shoots are picked, where both the leaves and the bud they embrace must be covered with fine silvery hairs on the inside. White tea should always be brewed with soft water that is not too hot (60–85 °C). Because of its special concentration of essential oils, which give the tea its delicate aroma, using water that’s too hot will destroy those wonderful scents. Due to the light and fluffy nature of this tea, it’s recommended to use a slightly larger amount of leaves. According to Chinese tea masters, it perfectly balances the emotional state — both toning and calming at the same time — creating a pleasant sense of comfort and tranquility. It contains vitamins C and B3, B-group vitamins, microelements, amino acids, and many other beneficial substances. It has less caffeine than most other tea types. White tea strengthens the immune system, improves blood clotting, promotes wound healing, and helps prevent cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and tooth decay. The tea is harvested in spring and produced according to respected traditional methods. Pai Mu Tan (White Peony) is lightly dried and gently roasted after picking.
