Organic Honeybush Tea

Like Rooibos, Honeybush was discovered in the 18th century in South Africa. The Honeybush shrub is named for its distinctive appearance: the flowers are bright yellow and reminiscent of honey’s aroma, while the leaves are slightly rougher than Rooibos. South Africans also call it the “vegetable bush” due to the shape of its legumes and knotted roots. Wild plants bloom only in the small mountain ranges of the Longkloof region. Rediscovered in the 1990s, it is now cultivated commercially in 35 different locations. Taste: pleasantly sweet and aromatic.
