Origin and Plantation
Our Costa Rica Naranjo coffee is grown at an altitude of 1,200–1,700 meters.
The fertile soil, warm climate, and excellent location in the highlands ensure
top-quality coffee beans. The coffee cherries are hand-picked to guarantee only
the finest beans. Costa Rica Naranjo is traded directly with local plantation owners,
completely without intermediaries. This helps farmers improve their harvests, sales,
and future prospects while also protecting the environment and the country’s natural resources.
Character and Taste
Costa Rica Naranjo impresses with its light malt and nutty flavor,
complemented by an admirable citrus finish. With more than 800 distinct aromatic components,
it guarantees a truly unique taste experience.
Special Features
During the 1980s and 1990s, Costa Rican coffee lost its world-famous character
due to the pursuit of mass production. Although the country is small and plantations
were mostly owned by small and medium-sized family businesses, coffee was produced
for decades almost exclusively in large industrial facilities — and thus lost its
distinctive personality. Today, small farmers are once again able to produce and market
their coffee profitably. As a result, quality has regained its former high standards.
