Organic Benifuuki Black Tea The Land of the Rising Sun, traditionally associated with green teas, has recently developed a noticeable interest in fermented teas. Black teas, for example from Darjeeling or Sri Lanka, are gaining popularity. As a result, local tea companies have started experimenting with black tea production and are now achieving success — as demonstrated by this organic Benifuuki! This tea is based on a hybrid grown from Thea Assamica and Sinensis bushes, cultivated in 1965 in Kagoshima Prefecture. The leaves are processed flat, with a rough deep-black appearance; the liquor has a reddish-golden hue, and the flavor profile highlights a full-bodied character and a pleasant sweetness, with a finish that leaves a nuance of ripe plums.
