Origin and Plantation When it comes to quality and exceptional coffee character, Kenya ranks among the world’s top producers! Due to their rarity, Kenyan “pearl beans” are a true delicacy. If a coffee tree cannot provide enough nutrients for a cherry growing at the top of the bush, only one bean develops in the cherry — the so-called pearl bean. This single bean gathers so much strength and grows so slowly that it becomes more aromatic than a regular bean. Our “pearl beans” come from the Kiundi region and are hand-picked from each harvest. Character and Taste An experienced roaster must use all their skill and expertise in the roasting process, as pearl beans have a rare beauty. When roasted successfully, the typical chocolate-like character develops along with the soft, spicy body of Kenyan coffee.
